Surlar\u0131n, listeye girmesinden k\u0131sa bir s\u00fcre sonra il\u00e7e \u00e7at\u0131\u015fmalarla g\u00fcndeme gelmeye ba\u015flarken, ya\u015fanan \u00e7at\u0131\u015fmalardan zaman zaman surlar da zarar g\u00f6rd\u00fc. Foto\u011fraf sanat\u00e7\u0131s\u0131 Ay\u015feg\u00fcl Ayano\u011flu, UNESCO sevinci kursa\u011f\u0131nda kalan Diyarbak\u0131r surlar\u0131n\u0131 foto\u011fraflad\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Sur i\u00e7i denilen eski Diyarbak\u0131r\u2019\u0131 bir kalkan bal\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u015feklinde ku\u015fatan surlar\u0131n, milattan \u00f6nce 3000 y\u0131l\u0131nda kente hakim olan Hurriler zaman\u0131nda kuruldu\u011fu tahmin ediliyor. Milattan sonra 349 y\u0131l\u0131nda Roma \u0130mparatoru Konstantinus taraf\u0131ndan geni\u015fletilerek, baz\u0131 k\u0131s\u0131mlar\u0131 onar\u0131lan surlar, Orta\u00e7a\u011f askeri mimarisinin muhte\u015fem bir \u00f6rne\u011fini olu\u015fturuyor.
